StoneRiver Vineyards is one of Southern Oregon’s premiere winegrape growers and wine producers. We have 33 acres planted to 13 varieties of winegrapes: 9 red and 4 white. Our vineyards are located in the heart of the Bear Creek Valley which is included in the Rogue River American Viticulture Area (AVA).
StoneRiver Vineyards is well known for its great wines and sustainable agricultural practices. Our goal is to be the best stewards possible of our land and vineyards, and to provide our winemakers with the best quality fruit to make their wines with. To achieve this goal we are committed to the practice of sustainable agriculture, a system-based approach that follows both time proven as well as new and innovative viticulture practices. Our approach to sustainability is to emphasize environmental health, economic profitability, and social equity.
As long-term stewards of our land, we are also committed to protecting and maintaining the health of our native salmon fisheries and our surrounding watershed. We actively work to preserve and restore the flora and native habitat along our section of Coleman Creek and to minimize any negative effects we might have on the Anderson Sub-watershed.
Since 2012, StoneRiver Vineyards has annually been certified LIVE sustainable and Salmon Safe. LIVE certification is one of the most authoritative third party sustainability accreditations’ in the wine world and is designed to ensure minimal environmental impact to the land we farm. Salmon-Safe involves the voluntary adoption of resilience-building practices that keep streams healthy enough for salmon. Salmon is an indicator species. This is important because if salmon thrive our watershed has potential to thrive as well.
